We take a unique approach to provide . At Eastleigh Care Homes we consider it vital to provide exceptional care which fosters appropriate independence in a setting which feels as much like ‘home’ as it can.
This means that instead of considering residential care, nursing care and dementia care as three completely separate types of care, we provide all within close proximity to each other, in South Molton. This approach enables us to offer residents a holistic approach to their care as it changes over time.
It is this which marks us out as different, as well as our pioneering and innovative care and luxurious settings. Finding the right care home can be complicated, but at Eastleigh our goal is to make it a positive and supportive experience.
When you consider a care home in North Devon you will primarily need to consider the type of care your loved one requires. You can get a completed by the Devon County Council and this will help you determine what level of care is need.
This will point you towards residential care, nursing care or dementia care. The different types of care home available are designed to meet the daily living, care and nursing needs of the individual as appropriate.
Furthermore, you may also consider sheltered accommodation (independent living with the benefits of staff nearby 24/7). This can be seen more like a half-way house between staying at home and moving into a care home full-time.
A home from home – When looking at brochures, undertaking visits, or browsing a North Devon care home’s website, consider whether this setting feels right for your loved one. Consider everything from the menu and the grounds to the bedrooms and the social calendar.
Staff – Try to find out more about the staff working in the care home. Consider how they interact with residents and whether there are specialist staff on site, for example an activities coordinator.
Facilities – Look to the facilities to consider things such as cleanliness, levels of comfort and lighting. Ask to see communal areas as well as an example of a bedroom. You should also consider the general accessibility of the home and its location. Whilst considering facilities, such as the home’s grounds or rooms, also gauge how much this is suited to the individual. For example, are residents surrounded by their own personal belongings, or with dementia care, are there ?
At Eastleigh we do things differently. We have three distinct care homes in South Molton, all close together and working together to offer a holistic type of care. Our three are Raleigh Mead, East Street and Rossiter House.
By providing care through three different settings close together, all residents benefit, as well as ensuring their care needs are adequately met as they develop and change over time.
