The original Edwardian building sits in stunning landscaped grounds which include a wildflower meadow, with glorious views to North Hill and the West Somerset coastline. Throughout this month, our residents have been discovering a little more about the Philippines, its culture, traditions and beautiful sights — and today we’ve reached one of our favourite parts of the journey… the food! 😋
Our kitchen team are taking our taste buds on their travels with a special Taste of the Philippines themed menu, including Chicken Adobo, Filipino Pork BBQ, Pancit, Lumpia and some rather tempting Filipino desserts! 🍜🥢🍮
We’re all looking forward to trying something a little different and seeing which dishes become the favourites!

💜 World Alzheimer’s Day 💜
Today, we came together as a care home to create something very special — a tree filled with “One thing I wish everyone knew about dementia…” 🌳💜
Our residents and team shared their thoughts, experiences and messages to help raise awareness and understanding about dementia. Each heart on our tree represents something important we wish others could know — from the importance of kindness, patience and dignity, to remembering that behind every diagnosis is a person with feelings, stories and a lifetime of memories. 🦋
We hope our little tree helps to spread a little more understanding, compassion and love. 💜
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped bring our display to life. 🌳💜

We were delighted to welcome the West Somerset Brass Band to our care home, who treated our residents to a fantastic afternoon of live music. There were plenty of toe-tapping tunes, smiles and even a few singalongs! 🎶❤️
And to make the afternoon even more special, our very own resident Evan was given the wonderful opportunity to help conduct the band! 🎼👏 He certainly looked the part and did a fantastic job!

🌻🏆 WE FINALLY DID IT… EASTLEIGH WON THE SUNFLOWER COMPETITION! 🏆🌻
We’re very pleased to announce that Eastleigh has been crowned the winner of the Welford Healthcare Sunflower Growing Competition, beating the sunflowers grown across all of our other Welford homes! 🌻💛
After plenty of watering, nurturing, watching and waiting, our towering beauties came out on top! 😂🌻

👩🍳 It’s Chef Appreciation Week! 👨🍳
This week at Eastleigh Minehead, we’re celebrating the brilliant team behind so many of the meals, treats and special occasions enjoyed in our home. ❤️
Our kitchen team do far more than simply put meals on the table. They remember favourite dishes, cater for individual needs and preferences, adapt meals when needed, and somehow manage to make our BBQs, themed days, celebrations and resident requests happen alongside everything else!
Food is such an important part of everyday life in a care home. It brings comfort, creates memories, gives us something to look forward to and, very often, brings everyone together.
