The original Edwardian building sits in stunning landscaped grounds which include a wildflower meadow, with glorious views to North Hill and the West Somerset coastline. 💙 A huge Eastleigh well done to Mat and the Exmoor Wanderers 💙
We are incredibly proud to support Mat, partner of our beautiful resident Kim, and the amazing Exmoor Wanderers team who recently completed the Alzheimer’s Society Trek26 challenge in support of dementia research.
“In Mat’s words” ✨
“Kim, a loving mother of two IVF boys, William and George, has sadly fallen under the dark blanket of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
The Exmoor Wanderers decided to do something to try and help the Alzheimer’s Society raise as much money as we could to help with research into this life changing condition - one that has not only affected Kim but has also deeply affected her friends and family.
We completed the 26 miles in just under 9 hours and between the 5 of us we have raised £5500. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and encouraged us along the way.”
What an incredible achievement from everyone involved. Your determination, compassion, and support for those affected by dementia is truly inspiring.

Many of you will already know Carmen, who has been part of the Eastleigh family since 2019 💙
Carmen started her journey working across both days and nights and has also supported the home as our Positive Behaviour Specialist and Moving & Handling Trainer. She is now our wonderful Admin Manager, continuing to support residents, families and staff every day.
💙 What do you enjoy most about your job?
“I truly enjoy my job because it gives me the privilege of becoming, in a way, part of people’s families. We meet individuals who are at the final stage of their journey, and what I can offer them is a moment of peace, safety, and dignity. A moment where they can still feel like themselves, where their stories matter, and where we can share memories and small, magical moments of joy.”
😊 What’s one thing that always makes residents smile?
“I’ve learned that residents respond best to the simplest things — a genuine smile, noticing small changes, offering a compliment, or sharing a little inside joke. It can make all the difference when they feel that we truly enjoy what we do.”
🌍 Dream holiday destination
“I love travelling and discovering new places. Over the years I’ve visited beautiful cities including Paris, Prague, Barcelona and Munich. One of my dream destinations is Japan — I would love to see the sakura blossom in spring.”

“My passions include reading (my only vice!), caring for plants — my home has slowly turned into a little jungle — listening to music, and driving, which I’m very proud of.”
