Eastleigh has 'Eggciting' times ahead
Time of event:
Eastleigh Care Homes, South Molton, have liaised with Hook Hatcheries in Cullompton to receive a donation of six, one day old chicks.
These will be collected by our residents on Monday 1 April 2019 from Cullompton, and a diary commenced for their ‘eggciting week’.
The children from South Molton Primary school will be coming to see them in the home on Monday afternoon, and completing a project about them, adding to the diary.
On the Tuesday the chicks will be visiting our Raleigh Mead home, and the Wednesday having a travel to our Minehead home.
Thursday is all about the Tarka Tots Nursery coming to visit them with our residents in the East Street home, placing more into the diary.
Friday they are going to visit the South Molton Primary School with some of our residents.
This is a really positive community project spanning the age gap with an engaging, topical and interactive project.
It will also pave the way for our new ‘Molly Molton’ bear who will be a shared pen pal / diary project with the local primary school and nursery. This will allow Molly to travel between school children and our residents in the home with an accompanied diary, residents / school children delivering her to either the school or care home for her next adventure; which will be documented in the diary.
