At Eastleigh Care Homes we are taking the threat of COVID-19 very seriously. We are doing everything possible to protect our residents. Trying to protect them from contracting COVID-19 is one of our top priorities.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents, employees and visitors are always our top priorities and we are continuing with our robust and comprehensive contingency plans to respond to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK. Our plans will be kept under regular review and updated as and when required.

We are currently still taking admissions into our Care homes, so please do give us a call if you are looking for care or need any further help. We want to assure you that when we are admitting new residents from the community, we have clear protocols in place to ensure that a negative test result is obtained before admission. All our residents are adhering to social distancing and isolation where appropriate.

Visiting Guidelines

As always, we are closely following Government guidance, and it remains that visitors are not permitted inside our services, apart from in some exceptional circumstances. This is to maintain necessary infection control measures in our homes during the current COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Where visitors are permitted, which is in some of our services including into outdoor spaces, entry is subject to strict conditions and the manager or director’s right to withdraw permission at any time without notice, should they feel this to be in the interests of residents, patients or staff.

At the start of lock down, we made the decision to purchase multiple tablets for each site to enable our resident to be able to video call family members and friends. If this is of interest please contact the relevant homes receptionist to book in for a video call.

Protecting our residents and staff

Our staff have all been trained in infection control and are aware of the symptoms of COVID-19. We have a clear process should a resident or member of staff show such symptoms and, to date, all of our staff have been brilliant in following this. We have managed to source sufficient PPE in line with the current guidelines, and have stock in a central location ready to distribute between the sites as and when required.

Activities for residents

As the homes are currently under lock down, we have not been having external activities. Luckily, Eastleigh Care Homes has a range of in house activities to help keep our residents minds and bodies active. One of which is the Tover - Tafel, Please follow the link for more information on the Tover Tafel. ToverTafel; Helping People remain active.

We also want to reassure you that we have been working with our suppliers to ensure that we have plenty of food and that our residents, will continue to be able to enjoy the food and drink that we offer.
