Friday marked 75 years since the formal acceptance by Britain and its allies of Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender.
Eastleigh Care Homes have marked the 75th anniversary of VE Day with a moment of silence. After the silence, we had a local musician walk around the gardens surrounding our buildings playing her violin. The residents were able to reminisce and enjoy the classic music such as; we’ll meet again, white cliffs of Dover and a long way to Tipperary from their windows and doors. The residents also waved Union jacks to add to the atmosphere.
