ToverTafel – Helping People remain active

Eastleigh Care Homes have recently purchased a ToverTafel, to be used in our  South Molton and Minehead homes.

For those of you that don’t know what that is. A ToverTafel is a projector that projects different games/activities on to a table. The Tovertafel is based on scientific research. In her PhD research, Hester Le Riche studied how the physical and social environment affect activity among older people with dementia.

The games have been designed to help stimulate different parts of the brain. It helps people with Dementia remain active, physically and mentally.

The games vary in whether they are more cognitive, social or physical based activities. So there is something for everyone.
