At Eastleigh, we offer nursing, residential and dementia care at our Minehead home, making us unique and sought after by those searching for care homes in West Somerset. If you’re already a Somerset resident then staying nearby is the obvious choice. However, if you’re bringing a loved one into the area for residential or nursing care, this is probably a different side of life to that which you’re familiar with.

Why choose Minehead care homes West Somerset?

Our Minehead home is more accurately described as ‘homes within a home’. We offer nursing and residential care, as well as specialist dementia care. The home is just a short distance from Minehead itself. So, why should you choose care here?

Minehead is a peaceful and relaxing coastal town, but it also has plenty of amenities. Here our residents can gain access to the beautiful coast, as well as being in an area of the country prime for visiting families. Our residents are never short of visitors! The beach at Minehead is wonderfully flat and there are several areas, as well as the promenade, which are wheelchair accessible or ideal for a short stroll.

Also within Minehead is the harbour where pleasure cruises can be enjoyed in the summer. Trips aboard the West Somerset Railway can also be taken from Minehead.

Within the town there is an array of inviting shops. Churches of various denominations can be found here, and we have close links with the churches within our home. There are plenty of cafes and places to eat. Minehead also has its own Regal Theatre with a full programme of events throughout the year.

Our Minehead home is situated perfectly just outside of the main town and as such benefits from spacious gardens and wonderful views.

Eastleigh’s Minehead home

Not all nursing and residential care homes are the same. It is vital that you learn more about a potential home before deciding if it is the right option for you or a family member.

Our Minehead West Somerset care home offers dementia care (with support from our leading Raleigh Mead dementia facility) as well as residential and nursing care. Our aim is to ensure that all types of care are offered within a luxurious home-from-home environment where individuals feel welcomed, supported and cared for. We are able to offer this in a number of different ways:

  • Beautiful setting: Our Edwardian home sits proudly within spectacular landscaped gardens. Residents are encouraged and enabled to make use of the grounds (even getting involved in gardening if they wish). There are wonderful views across North Hill. Our gardens are an enviable suntrap and a popular spot.
  • Spacious luxurious rooms: All residents benefit from spacious rooms, with en suite facilities. Some rooms have their own balcony. Furniture is both elegant and comfortable, and residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with effects from home. Rooms have their own flat screen TV. In addition we offer 7 further high-specification nursing rooms which would look in place in a 5-star hotel without sacrificing nursing functionality.
  • Delicious food and drink: We recognise the importance of tasty and enjoyable food which is so often lacking in residential care. Residents can dine within the communal areas or can enjoy room service. Meals are served with wine, sherry or fruit juice.
  • Community spirited: We are proud of the community feel we maintain within the Minehead home. Here residents can relax or socialise within various different areas within the home, as well as having plenty of space to entertain visitors in their own room if they prefer. In addition, we offer a wide range of events and activities to encourage socialisation, ensuring that residents are stimulated and engaged.
  • Caring staff: The staff at our Minehead home forms a supportive team of care to all of the residents. Genuinely passionate about providing exemplary care, our staff consider it an honour to be involved in the lives of our residents.
